Abstract

Orthogonal netted radar system requires the transmitted waveforms with a very low autocorrelation and crosscorrelation sidelobe peak level. Pseudo-random Phase Coded Modulation (PCM) waveform is suitable for orthogonal design in this sense. In this paper, the correlation properties of Gold sequences as binary phase codes are discussed. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the desired orthogonal properties of the coded pulse signal. The effect of Doppler shift and computation cost are also discussed.
