Optimized vectorial summing for fading niose suppression in φ-OFDR using multi-core fiber

Abstract

We present the analysis for the time-domain noise accumulation in the multi-core fiber based coherent fading noise suppression for phase-sensitive optical frequency domain reflectometry. A method based on the optimized selection of the cores used for the combination is proposed and demonstrated and an effective suppression for accumulated noise which could be able to improve the sensitivity and the stability in long-term measurement.
