Abstract
The small liquid nitrogen Zero boil-off (ZBO) system mainly consists by a pulse tube cryocooler, a thermosyphon and a liquid nitrogen Dewar. It can be used for long-term lossless storage of cryogenic liquids, and also as a reliable integrated cooling source, with advantages of long lifetime, temperature uniformity and stability, while isolate vibration and electromagnetic interference. The structure and thermal design of the ZBO system is briefly introduced, then with a preliminary analysis and a complete experimental study on the operating characteristics of the system, including the process of startup, dynamics running, homeostasis and the dynamic changes. Eventually the operating characteristics of the cryogenic liquids ZBO system are known.
