Abstract
Drag force is a fundamental concept of great significance in fluid mechanics. Existing textbooks for fluid mechanics provide relatively limited coverage of drag force. This paper presents explanations of drag force from the perspectives of Newtonian mechanics and fluid mechanics, respectively, and discusses their differences. Additionally, drag force on flexible structures is introduced. Through these introductions, students can develop a more comprehensive and profound understanding of drag force and foster greater interest in fluid mechanics.
