Abstract

An omnidirectional system was developed for target monitoring based on compound eyes technology. The hardware system, including linear CCD, CPLD and AVR MCU, was designed. Meanwhile, the algorithm to detect and track the moving objects was discussed. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system could simply and accurately detect the angular coordinate and the angular velocity of the moving object.
