Abstract

The characteristics of penetrating an runway obliquely by using projectiles with anti-runway tanckem warheads were studied, under the holed in advance condition of an airport runway penetrated by the former stage warheads. The penetrative process of the tandem warheads was simulated with the finite element code LS-DYNA3D, considering the different influencial factors, such as, speed, attack angle and medium interface. The results were validated with live ammunition experiments. The study results provided a reference for design of anti-runway tandem projectiles.
