Abstract

The automotive audio system is considered as a new trend in the field of audio industry. Acoustic environment of cabin is a challenging problem, which makes tuning crucial. Traditionally, tuning has relied on subjective listening by audio engineers, the process of which can last for several months. This study proposes an objective evaluation method for spatial audio in vehicles, which utilizes acoustic measurement and signal processing techniques to evaluate the spatial perception of automotive audio accurately. This method requires minimal number of equipment and costs few measurement time, thus reducing the workload of audio engineers. Subjective experiments have validated that this method effectively reflects subjective auditory experiences.
