Abstract

The rod penetrator with spherical segment charge liner and its penetration into frozen ground are researched by using LS-DYNA3D. The process of its penetration into frozen ground is analyzed. The situations of that the rod penetrators with copper and aluminum liners penetrate into frozen ground at different heights of burst are simulated. The simulated data is compared with the experimental data. The result shows that the proposed calculation method, material model and related parameters are reasonable. The correctness of the numerical simulation is verified. It is helpful to further optimize the design of rod penetrator.
