Abstract

A numerical model for simulating the intake system, exhaust system and exhaust muffler of turbocharged diesel engine was developed based on GT-POWER software. A research on the engine performance at full load, firing pressure in cylinder, pressure fluctuation in intake and exhaust system, pressure of muffler outlet was made using this model. Experiments demonstrate that the model based on GT-POWER can be used to predict the pressure fluctuation in intake and exhaust system.
