Abstract

In order to study the influencing factors of flyers driven by micro-channel charge detonation, the numerical simulation about the process of driving flyer was researched based on the AUTODYN(a software of non-linear dynamics), and the factors that affect the speed of the flyer was obtained. The study results showed that: there are three determinants of flyer velocity: the material of flyer, the thickness of flyer and the charge diameter. Titanium flyer is better than stainless steel flyer, and stainless steel flyer is better than copper flyer; the velocity is faster with the flyer becoming thinner; when charge diameter is within 10 mm, the flyer velocity is visibly increasing, when it's greater 10 mm, the flyer velocity become stable gradually, and the position of where the flyer has maximum velocity would move backward.
