Abstract

For vehicles with independent suspension, the kinematic characterization and optimization of the wheels has a great influence on the handling stability of the vehicle. The target of the optimization is an important factor of assuring the good performance of the suspension after optimization. Through analyzing the difference between the target of wheel camber optimization while vehicles running in straight-line and curve, and comparing the difference between the target of wheel camber optimization while the suspension has linear and nonlinear stiffness, a design range of camber optimization was put forward according to actual running conditions of a vehicle, a method of confirming the target of camber optimization based on weighting method was carried out.
