Abstract
In this paper, a scientific investigation into the nonlinear resonance properties and vibrational patterns within a planetary gear transmission system (PGT) is presented. Initially, the analytical solution of the main resonance of the PGT is derived by using the multi-scale method (MSM). Moreover, the influence of the excitation frequency fluctuations on the nonlinear amplitude-frequency characteristics of the system is studied. Subsequently, numerical methods are utilized to explore the excitation patterns and modal characteristics associated with the primary, sub-harmonic, and super-harmonic resonances of the two-stage planetary gear transmission system. These investigations unveil the intricate multiple resonance mechanisms inherent to the PGT. Finally, an experimental test rig for the PGT is constructed, facilitating empirical validation of the discerned nonlinear resonance characteristics, vibrational, and excitation patterns.
