Abstract

The α-diimine nickel dibromo complex LNiBr₂ (L = [(2,6-iPr₂C₆H₃)NC(Me)]₂) reacts with various amounts of potassium metal and phenazine (Phz) to afford the complexes [LNi(η⁴-C₄-Phz)] (1) and [K(DME)]₂[(LNi) ₂(μ-η¹:η¹-N,N-Phz)] (2), in which the Phz molecule adopts significantly different coordination modes with different oxidation states of Phz, Ni, and L.
