Abstract

A new near-field source localization method based on COLD array was proposed, by utilizing rotational invariance of polarization sensitive array. Compared with several existing algorithms, the proposed method reduces the calculating burden, without spectral peak searching, high-order statistics and parameter paring. And it also does not require array symmetry, which can effectively avoid the loss of array aperture. The COLD array has better performance because of the special orientation without an approximation assumption. The effectiveness is verified by the computer simulations.
