Abstract

For the radio channel environment, it is a well-established fact that the scatterer locations are nor distributed uniformly over space, but tend to be concentrated in certain region. By the multiple reflection and dispersion, the multipaths may be shown as a cluster in spatial and delay domain. In channel model, it is crucial for system parameters design to depict the cluster propagation characteristic accurately. The multipaths of the same cluster can be described with two parameters, the nominal azimuth and the angular extension. A low complexity sequential searching algorithm was introduced to estimate the two parameters of the multiple clusters. The emulation of the actual channel measurement result illustrates the proposed algorithm can accurately characterize the radio propagation channel and reduce the computation complexity.
