Abstract

Ground penetrate radar (GPR) migration imaging has important significance to underground target detection and recognition. In the actual environment, the underground medium often has a horizontal structure,Conventional migration imaging method for single medium is not applicable. Therefore, this paper proposes a multilayer range migration (MRM) imaging method, MRM combines the ideas of phase shift migration (PSM) and range migration (RM). Electromagnetic waves are discontinuous at the interface between layers, and MRM can solve the problem by phase continuation. The applicability of the RM from homogeneous medium extended to multilayer medium. Then, we use the autofocusing technique (AF) to estimate the relative permittivity (RP) of each layer of the medium based on the migrated image. Combining with MRM and AF enables accurately imaging the targets within a layered scene with unknown relative permittivity.
