Abstract

This paper investigates multi-resonant modes on resistor-loaded metal strip and its application on absorptive frequency-selective structures. Three resonant modes of the metallic strip are studied. The different current distributions under these resonant modes are utilized to realize an absorptive frequency-selective reflector (AFSR) and an absorber, which are loaded one and two resistors respectively. The unit cell consists of four rotationally symmetric bent metallic strips embedded with resistors and backed with a ground. The designed structures are fabricated and measured, and the measured results have a good agreement with simulated results.
