Abstract

To deal with the disadvantages of motional cable harness design method and difficulties of the layout result validation during motional cable harness design process, a physical characteristic oriented modeling method of motional cable harness with distributed force was proposed based on the thin elastic rod based model. After variable substitution and dimensionless, the equation set was discretized by differential quadrature method. By adding the boundary conditions directly, an overdetermined nonlinear equation set was obtained, and Levenberg-Marquardt method was used to solve this equation set. An experimental equipment was established, and it was proved by comparison between example and experiment. The result showed that the model was able to describe the physical characteristic of motional cable harness accurately. Motional cable harness computer aided design and optimize system was developed based on this model, and the application of system and validation example were given.
