Abstract

Monitoring and analysis is very important for the development, test and maintenance of TErrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) Base Stations (BSs). In this paper, we present an approach using protocol analysis technology with packet data sent by BSs. Packet data will be captured and examined by an open-source network analyzer, Wireshark. Three Wireshark dissectors, TMVSAP dissector, AZ Interface dissector and TETRA traffic dissector, are developed for deep analysis of the TETRA protocol. Besides the description of system architecture, some key issues of our dissectors are discussed in details, including TETRA layer 3 PDU decoding, display filters.
