Model on the void fraction in liquid slug for vertical slug flow

Abstract

The hydrodynamic model on the void fraction in liquid slugs for gas-liquid slug flow in vertical tube was developed, in which the gas exchange between the Taylor bubble and following liquid slug was considered. The experimental setup and procedure were presented. It has been shown that the predicted results by the model are in agreement with the experimental data, especially at high superficial velocities of the mixture, and the errors are within ±20%.
