Abstract
The intramolecular photochemical interaction of a series of bis-coumarinyl compounds with various alkyl chain lengths (An) has been studied in/without the presence of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) by fluorescence spectroscopy. The results show that both photodimerization and excimer formation can occur in the respective favourable microenvironments.
