Abstract
In many industrial processes, the viscosity is an important parameter to the quality of products. Nowadays viscosimeters are not fit for both non-invasive and on-line measuring requirements, although they can acquire very accurate data. In this paper, the technique of electromagnetic tomography has been added to a traditional electromagnetic flowmeter. Based on the measurement method of Newtonian fluids and non-Newtonian fluids without yield stress, the authors put forward a further method to measure the viscosity of non-Newtonian fluids with yield stress on-line and non-invasively. Through many simulating researches and error analyses, the method was proved to be effective.
