Abstract

This paper analyzes the impact of phase noise in a time-division multiplexed switching (TDMS) channel sounder, with a signal transmission and receiving method developed based on fast switching. Orthogonal sequences are sent through different transmitters to increase the number of switching between different antenna elements in one snapshot. Compared with traditional methods, the switching scheme can reduce the switching duration to ensure the uniform phase noise infection on different element pairs. Simulation results show that the scheme can reduce the channel capacity overestimation led by phase noise.
