Abstract
The mechanism of evaporating PETN explosive film in vacuum is studied experimentally. The effects of degree of vacuum, temperature and speed of evaporation upon the film quality are discussed. Curves between the rate of evaporation and temperature are obtained. The average velocity and kinetic energy of molecules on evaporation are calculated. The conclusion that PETN undergoes evaporation on behalf of its heated sublimation is drawn. The optimum evaporation temperature, methods of improving ability in absorption and the effect of categories of film growth to their characteristics are discussed.
