Abstract

To set up manufacturability analysis model, three technologies for constructing manufacturing analysis model were extracted: model reuse technology, multi-dimensional modeling techniques, model integration and mapping technology. Model reuse technology was used to establish manufacturing feature template library, and reference template was applied to set up the design model. By using multi-dimensional modeling techniques, the design model was decomposed into manufacturing object model, manufacturing process mode, manufacturing resource model and features relational model, and these models were assembled into logical completed manufacturability analysis model by model integration and mapping technology. In Flange manufacturing case studies, parts manufacturing features were extracted through the proposed three technologies, and improvements on structural components of the process and process were recommended so as to realize the design spiral cycle with design, proposal and modified design.
