Abstract

Through machining experiments, it is found that ceramal is an appropriate cutting material for valve seats made of Cr-Mo-Ni powder metallurgy, from point of view of whether the machining accuracy or tool-life. A new technique to machine valve seat conical hole was proposed. Structures of indexical inserts and precision combined cutting tools were designed also.
