Abstract

The missile launching in concentric canister launcher (CCL) is a typical process affected by exhausted jet flow and some different forces. For analyzing the relation between CCL's design parameters and the launching trajectory, a lumped parameter model was proposed to simulate the launching process. Based on the typical features of jet flow in CCL, the fundamental equation of gas flow, the dynamic model of missile and Rayleigh-Plesset equation were used in this model. The numerical tests show that the lumped parameter model can simulate the typical attributes of gas flow and the trajectory during missile launching via CCL. Furthermore, the relation between design parameters and launching trajectory can be analyzed easily by this model, which may provide reference for design of concentric canister launcher.
