Abstract

Laplace transform, Schapery numerical inversion and finite element methods are applied in analyzing the process of point contact lubrication between members made up of epoxy composites reinforced by glass fibers. Based on theoretical calculation and experimental tests, a simplified method for the description of the equivalent elastic modulus in the point contact lubrication problem between epoxy composites is proposed. Through calculation and experimental study, laws of lubrication oil film thickness varying with time are obtained, thus providing dependable theoretical and experimental data for the study of lubrication problems between epoxy composites reinforced by fibers.
