Abstract

The average flow model and Hahn method are integrated for the first time and the numerical method on the lubricating analysis of the dynamic load rough journal bearing is put forward. Furthermore, the effects of different variance ratio of the journal, surface pattern parameter and roughness on the lubricating performance of dynamic load rough journal bearing are investigated. Based on the method mentioned above, the lubricating properties of the first main bearing of 4105 diesel engine are analyzed. The calculated results show that the first main bearing is in full hydrodynamic lubrication regime and the power loss can be reduced by decreasing the surface roughness of bearing.
