Load frequency control based on ADRC for interconnected power system

Abstract

This paper presents a load frequency controller which is based on active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) method for two-area interconnected power system with nonlinearities and introduces a design of this controller in detail. Moreover, a series of simulations are conducted within this design in order to verify the effectiveness of ADRC from 4 aspects as dynamic performance, robustness, nonlinear effects and CPS by comparing with a traditional PI controller. The results demonstrate the two interconnected power system based on ADRC achieves better robustness and dynamic performance.
