Abstract

A Ku-band high-gain conformal array antenna with phase compensation is presented. The array antenna includes 4×6 patch elements, and is series-parallel-hybrid-fed. An out-of-phase power divider is designed to provide the required feeding signals. In order to compensate the gain drop caused by confor-mality on the radome, phase compensation line is added. The -10 dB impendence bandwidth of the proposed Ku-band conformal design is 39.3%, ranging from 11.4 GHz to 16.7 GHz. The band-width with gain higher than 15 dBi is capable to cover 11.4 GHz to 15.9 GHz and the peak gain reaches 17.2 dBi. Two sets of similar antennas operating at adjacent frequencies are arranged on the radome to cover the whole Ku band.
