Abstract

The kinetics of the adiabatic decomposition of ammonium nitrate is studied using non-parametric kinetic (NPK) method in the present paper. The results showed that the decomposition of ammonium nitrate follows a complex reaction mechanism. The activation energy is found to be 189.62 kJ · mol -1 from the straight line obtained from NPK method.
