Abstract

Aiming at the poor universality of current NC tube bending process simulation methods, a forming process simulation approach of NC tube bending was presented based on kinematics model. According to the kinematics theory of multi-body system, information model and kinematics model were established to describe the movement and structural parameters of the bending machines. Newton-Raphson iteration method was used to solve the kinematics equations. By the motion planning method of the bending machine and the target tube, the NC tube bending simulation of any structural single-head bending machine was implemented. A prototype system was developed, and the bending machines of SWING and VB200HP were used as examples to validate the proposed approach.
