Abstract

A joint modulation format identification and OSNR monitoring scheme based on LSTM is proposed for the performance monitoring of coherent optical communication systems. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can effectively accomplish high accuracy classification of different modulation formats and achieve accurate estimation of OSNR.
