Abstract

This paper uses the numerical simulation method to analysis the operating characteristics of the asymmetric dual boost compressor in whole and simplified model. The results show that there are two kinds of operating modes of asymmetric intake dual boost compressor. With the flow reducing, the parallel working mode is converted into single impeller working mode. Meanwhile, by analyzing the outlet velocity triangle on both sides of the impeller, The reason why there exists the differences in component of velocity and the flow loss in a common diffuser can be explained. In addition, the asymmetric structure of outlet flow field on both sides of the impeller under small flow condition has been analyzed, Which shows that the quantities corresponding to rear impeller mix more quickly in circumferential direction.
