N2 - Among different metal matrix composites, the aluminum reinforced SiC composites have shown robust mechanical properties. The outstanding properties are dependent on the morphology of the particles and volume of the SiC, agglomeration and uniform distribution, and strong interfacial bonding between Al and SiC. The material's behavior varies under different loading conditions. Therefore, this review article critically analyzes the interfacial behavior of Al/SiC composites under different loading conditions. Firstly, the interfacial strength under quasi-static loading and its behavior have been explained. Further, the behavior of Al/SiC composites against extreme conditions such as dynamic compression, fatigue, and ballistic impact is reviewed. At the end of the article, some suggestions have been proposed so that it can reach its maximum potential under a range of loading circumstances.
