Abstract
Based on the characteristics of nonuniform volute circumferential flow, a full week turbocharger turbine stage calculation model was established. The model was compared with the experimental results to verify its validity of the simulation. Experimental data were used to determine the boundary conditions of three-dimensional viscous numerical calculations, focusing on the influence of volute inflow inhomogeneous on the internal flow field of variable radial inflow turbine. Calculation results show that the volute inflow inhomogeneity leads to the uneven features distribution of guide vanes and impeller internal circumferential flow. Inlet flow angle of the guide vanes shows a great change in circumferential distribution, and each blade of impeller load and flow circumferential distribute is not uniform. Individual blade loading mutation may cause the blade vibration, reducing the service life of the turbine.
