Abstract

Selective and low toxicity semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO) inhibitors were prospective in life ,science. Antiobesity can be divided by three types, such as anorexigenic agents, lipase inhibitor and marasmus of energy, but up to now, there is no available data for demonstrating the inhibition of antiobesity to SSAO. In the present study, the inhibitory effect of eleven antiobesities were assessed by HPLC in vitro, and found that caffeine, fluoxetine, fenfluramine were capable of inhibiting SSAO activity. Among these drugs, caffeine was the most effective and can be employed as a new inhibitor in the investigation of SSAO.
