Abstract

In this study, 3-amino-4-amino ximino furazan(AAOF) was synthesized using malononitrile as the starting material by two-pot method. The synthetic process was tracked by on-line infrared technique to investigate how process conditions affected product yield. Thus, under the premise of high yield, the optimized reaction conditions were determined as following: shorten the rearrangement time as 0.5 h, neglected both neutralization and oximation steps, shorten ring closure reaction time as 40 min, and added sodium nitrite in liquid. Under these conditions, the time of the whole reaction can be greatly reduced to 3 h, which could inevitably increase the efficiency and lower the production cost of the whole synthetic process.
