Abstract

In some cases, access timing delay can not be ignored in CDMA unslotted ALOHA wireless communication systems with channel load sensing protocol (CLSP). Due to the fact that it causes throughput performance degradation, a modified CLSP (MCLSP) has been proposed to avoid this effect. Although robust throughput performance can be obtained by MCLSP, it is not satisfactory when the access timing delay is not large. So a novel channel access control protocol called improved CLSP (ICLSP) is proposed. It combines the advantages of MCLSP and CLSP, and can give better throughput performance.
