Abstract

Image registration is one of the basic image processing operations in image understanding. Optical camera and SAR are widely used in mapping and remote sensing. By registering two images, the fusion of multimodality information becomes possible. Transformation model is the most important factor in image registration based on feature points. The authors systematically introduce the principle of optical imagery and propose the geometric model of SAR imaging. Prove that projective transformation is the best model for SAR and optical image registration both in theory and practice.
