Abstract
The novel molybdovanadophosphate [HN(C2H5) 3]4[MoV3MoVIV IVO40(PO4)]·2N(C2H 5)3 was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, EPR, IR spectra and X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/n with a = 14.0841(3), b = 14.2505(3), c = 19.6089(3) Å, β = 94.213(1)°, V = 3925.0(1) Å3, Z = 2, Dc = 2.171 g/cm3, M r = 2566.18, μ = 2.284 mm-1, F(000) = 2516, R = 0.0477 and wR = 0.0945. The heteropolyanion has a novel hexadecametal cage [Mo V3MoVI6VIV 7O40(PO4)]4- which encloses a disorder PO43- guest.
