Abstract

Two tetra-CoII substituted sandwich-type polyoxotungstate, H3[Co(en)2]0.5[Co(en)2(H2O)]2[Co(en)(H2O)]2[Co4(en)(B-α-SiW9O34)2]·9H2O (1, en = ethylenediamine) and [Co(mea)2(2,2′-pby)]2[Co4(Hppz)2(B-α-PW9O34)2]·2H2ppz·8H2O (2, mea = monoethanolamine, 2,2′-bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine, ppz = piperazine), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by IR spectroscopy, UV spectroscopy, TG, powder XRD and single-crystal X-ray structural analysis, respectively. Compound 1 exhibits a layer, in which the en molecules and [Co(en)2]2+ cations as the linkers connect [Co4(B-α-SiW9O34)2]12− clusters to form the layer. Compound 2 shows a supramolecular layer built by [Co4(Hppz)2(B-α-PW9O34)2]8− cluster units via N–H···O H-bond interactions, in which three types of organic amine ligands are included.
