High spatial density 7-core 6-LP fiber for weakly-coupled mode-division-multiplexed transmission

Abstract

We report a 7-core 6-LP fiber which has three different types of cores and heterogeneous trench-assisted step-index profiles with a spatial multiplicity of 70. The value of relative-core-multiplicity factor is close to 67.4.
