Abstract

The antiplane response of a scalene triangular hill joined by a semi-cylindrical canyon by the action of incident SH waves was studied. The model was divided into two domains by creating a virtual boundary. The wave functions which satisfy the wave equation and boundary conditions were constructed by using complex function and moving coordinate methods. The equations were established by using the continuity conditions of virtual boundary. After solving the equations, the numerical examples were provided and the influence of different factors on ground motion was discussed.
