Abstract

The method of optimization calculation for some key geometric parameters in an impeller is investigated. The main factors on impeller efficiency are analyzed, and the geometric parameter optimization strategies of compressor design system are established. By going through the calculation and contrasting the results, geometric parameters such as impeller blade inlet and exit angle, inlet diameter, tip depth and tip clearance can be adjusted to improve the compressor performance. The method of impeller parameters optimization design can be used in the selection of geometric parameters and the performance prediction of vehicle turbochargers.
