Abstract

Traditionally the upper boundary of an entry corridor is determined by quasi-equilibrium gliding condition (QEGC) which is a relatively 'soft' constraint, leading to a loosen result. This paper presents an improved generation method in pursue of a stricter entry flight corridor of hypersonic gliding vehicles. Firstly, the path constraints during the entry phase are modeled and the traditional corridor generation method is briefly introduced. Secondly, based on the aforementioned constraints and the dropping trajectories of the vehicles, the innovated method is elaborated. Then, a safety factor is defined. Based on the safety factor, the emergence possibility of a certain velocity can be assessed. With the new generation method and the definition of the safety factor, the features of the entry flight can be better understood.
