Abstract

The compound-structure permanent-magnetic synchronous machine (CS-PMSM) is a promising concept for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). Based on magnetic-decoupling, mathematical model of a radial-radial flux prototype machine is analyzed. A test bench was built and experiments were carried out to validate functions of CS-PMSM for HEV applications.
