Abstract

This paper describes the implementation of soft-decision Viterbi decoder based on (2,1,9) convolutional code. A soft-decision Viterbi decoder is implemented on code rate 1/2 by using 3-bit quantification. When calculating the distance, we use the Euclidean distance of the "1 norm" and something changed. The simulation and experiment results demonstrate that the Viterbi decoder can decode the code accurately.
