Abstract

An effective forward looking infra-red (FLIR) image enlargement algorithm in contrast to bi-linear interpolation is proposed. It first preprocesses the FLIR image with morphology technique to locate the bounding edges more precisely. Then it adopts an adaptive fuzzy interpolation algorithm to enlarge the image. It overcomes some shortcomings of the bi-linear interpolation approach. Experiment indicates that the enlargement quality of our algorithm is superior to bi-linear interpolation.
